Cyrus Blue comes from a single salt deposit in the Semnan province of northern Iran — the only place on earth where this crystal forms. It's a fossil of an ancient sea, more than 100 million years old.

The deep blue isn't a mineral or a dye. It's a trick of geology — light bending through compressed sylvinite the way it bends through sapphire or sea ice.
